Project Scope

This two-storey home renovation lacked street appeal, not to mention it was missing out a million dollar harbour views. With the addition of a cantilever deck, and by going up another level, this renovation in Glendowie transformed the house giving it 180 ° harbour views. The exterior presentation of the house was given a make-over, giving it a modern but classical look.

Key Design Features

Cutting back the roof and installing a pop-top (extra level). The foundations were strengthened with structural steel to take the extra weight. Working closely with the architects we were able to transform the entrance of the house, making it appear very grand with tall pillars and changing the roof line.

Main Challenges

Working alongside the engineer to strengthen the foundations using steel framing to withstand the extra weight of the additional level on top of the house. End result being 9 metres in the air with ocean views. From consent, structural support, building and inspections, the entire project was completed in 4 months.
